Question 1

Who hires you?

Accepted Answer

Usually the person responsible for a new leader's arrival: a board chair, a president, a provost, or a head of HR. The institution is my client. Search firms often introduce me once a leader is placed.

Question 2

How does this fit with our search firm and HR?

Accepted Answer

Search firms place the leader, and HR onboards them. I work on what falls in between: the leader learning how the institution really works, and the family getting settled. I work alongside both.

Question 3

When should we bring you in?

Accepted Answer

As soon as the offer is signed. The Entry Brief happens before day one, so the earlier we start, the more the leader knows walking in.

Question 4

What happens in an Entry Brief?

Accepted Answer

I hold confidential conversations with people across the institution. The leader hears what people hope for, how the last big change landed, and where the work is stretched thin. The institution gets a clear read too.

Question 5

How does confidentiality work?

Accepted Answer

What people tell me stays confidential. I share themes, never who said what.

Question 6

Does the leader have to be moving a family?

Accepted Answer

No. Family Transition is added only when the leader is moving a family.

Question 7

What does Institutional Review and Design involve?

Accepted Answer

I review how your institution brings in leaders today, across every office involved. Then I design one coordinated way to do it, and train the staff who will run it.

Question 8

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

Your written scope sets the timeline before any work begins.

Question 9

How do we start?

Accepted Answer

With a private 20-minute conversation about the transition ahead. If it's a fit, I send a written scope, and we shape it together before any work begins.

Question 10

Do you work with families directly?

Accepted Answer

Yes, by referral. If you're a family going through a move or a big change, book a conversation.
